Experience this fascinating Asian culture and make a difference in worthwhile teaching projects on Volunteer India.
The focus of the teaching projects is on English, maths and enhancing creativity. The schools we work with are generally overcrowded and under staffed so as a volunteer you’ll be able to give the children much-needed attention.
Daily activities include:
- Bridging lessons for slow learners and those with poor attendance
- Working with children of migrant communities and from child labour backgrounds
- Encouraging a playful environment through painting, playing games, singing and other creative activities
- Teaching basic hygiene awareness
- Help to develop affordable teaching resources
There will also be opportunities to organise extra curricular activities, from arts and crafts, dance and music, to sports days and football matches.
Projects are based in Goa, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh, giving you the opportunity to choose which region of this diverse country you’d like to visit. Many volunteers choose to travel after their volunteer work and explore India with friends they’ve made through volunteering.
As a non-profit organisation, BUNAC’s primary concern is to ensure you have a worthwhile volunteering experience. We’re proud of the fact that on average, 70% of the programme cost goes to the developing world. Accommodation, food, and full support from BUNAC and our local partners in India is included in the programme cost.
With monthly departures and projects lasting from 8 weeks upwards, this is an ideal gap year, career-break or summer holiday opportunity.
